Verdant View Farm B&B was our home for the weekend as we discovered and captured the peaceful life of the Amish.Friday night we went over our plans and highlights for the weekend.  A big orange moon and starry night left us gazing and set the mood for a fun-filled weekend.  We nestled in to the sounds of
snoring and giggles throughout the house.

Up at dawn for some lingering fog on the pond and our full attention to Mr. Swan.  An early morning wagon ride took us through the back fields of the farm and a typical Amish breakfast on the wagon awaited us.  The strawberry and rhubarb yogurt was delicious!  There were a lot of photo ops on the farm: animals, barns, machinery and a steam engine which cut through the back fields.  Just down the road, we had a photo shoot at the train station.  We all gathered at mid-day for a hearty meal.

With our bellies full, we’re ready to explore the rest of the day at antique stores, junk yards, a cemetery, farmlands, a mill and “drive-by shootings”.  The sunset was not happening as the evening turned cloudy, so back to our home at the farm.  Plenty of snacks, local ice cream and margaritas kept the evening alive with tales of the day’s events.  A few laptops provided entertainment of  our photo ops.  Delirious from margarita’s and laughter, we wandered to bed too tired to notice the snoring and giggles this night!!

Up early again but dragging a little especially us “older folks.”  The morning was quite chilly and windy which did not keep us down.  Off in different directions, a few of us ended up at the apple orchard (my favorite place).  We all returned back at the house for a group photo and then departed with lots of smiles and hugs.  The trip started and ended with great weather, lots of laughter and most important is getting to know your fellow members from the club.  Till we meet again!
