My name is Brenda Quinn.  I’m a full-time Mom and also a part-time staff member at Worthwhile Thrift store in Plumsteadville.  I’ve been married for 21 years and have two kids, ages 18 and 15. I’ve always enjoyed photography, but have only gotten “serious” about it the past 5 years or so. I started out with a cute little Kodak EasyShare Z712 IS and loved that camera!! Not very complicated, and no lenses to buy. It was only 2 years ago that I got an Olympus E-M10MarkII and I REALLY love that camera!  I enjoy taking photographs of architecture (especially barns), run-down buildings or ruins, sunsets, scenery, and mostly outdoor things.

I have to be up front and honest about one thing. Even though I have taken a couple photography classes, I still don’t understand some of the technical stuff, and most of my typical photos are taken in the “auto” mode.  I’m not a good learner. I tend to have a good photographic memory (no pun intended, I swear), so I learn better by just “doing it”, hands-on. Just please don’t ask me technical questions!  I’ve been told that I have “the eye”, so maybe that’s why my photos turn out half-decent?!

Photography is my “go to” for relaxation and enjoyment.  If I’m out and the sky is perfect with puffy clouds, or a storm is coming, I constantly find myself thinking what an amazing photograph I could be taking right now.  In my opinion, photography enables you to see the beauty in life, in so many different ways.  It doesn’t matter which season it is, where you are, what time of day it is, what size something is, if it’s human or animal, or your trash vs. someone else’s treasure.

There’s ALWAYS something to photograph!
