Anthony Migliorino – His story: From the Stars to the Streets

"My journey into photography began with a telescope and a deep fascination for the night sky. As a grammar school student obsessed with astronomy, I spent countless evenings observing planets and celestial wonders. Naturally, I wanted to capture what I saw. That desire to preserve the beauty of the cosmos led me straight to astrophotography—and into the darkroom.

From there, my passion for photography took off. In high school, I became the go-to photographer for both the school newspaper and yearbook, serving all four years. Photography became a constant companion, even if life—raising a family, pursuing a career in banking—meant I had to put the camera down now and then.

Later in life, I found my way back behind the lens. During a transition between banking roles, I opened a photography studio in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. It was a whirlwind year packed with creative energy. I shot portraits for actors, authors needing book covers, fashion clients, and everyday individuals wanting something special. I met a diverse cast of characters and grew tremendously as a photographer.

Eventually, I moved to Philadelphia for another opportunity in banking, but the photography never stopped. These days, I focus on landscapes, wildlife, and the occasional portrait. I’m constantly experimenting—whether it’s chasing light through the woods or testing the character of different camera systems. I shoot Fuji, Nikon, Leica, and Hasselblad, each one bringing a unique voice to the visual stories I tell.

Photography began for me with the stars, but it’s led me to explore everything from faces to forests. It’s a lifelong pursuit, and I’m just as excited to learn and grow today as I was in that grammar school backyard with a telescope and a dream."
