This is our second contest for program year.  This time the focus is on 'FOOD'.  If my facebook account is any indication of expertise, we probably have amazing photographic images available! There is an OPEN category - anything goes, but note the exclusion of AI generated Images as described below.

We are introducing Mike Pillows as our judge for this subject.  Everyone loves FOOD!

Here's his bio:
"Many people during the course of their lives, have experienced moments that remain imprinted on what I like to call our photographic senses. We often catch glimpses of pictures and visuals that help reawaken the images in our mind. Even though each one of us views a picture differently, for some it can help rekindle and bring back to life a special moment or at least give shape to a future journey.

My images have captured milliseconds of life and hopefully will give the viewer a feeling of breathing along with me.

I was brought up to pursue my dreams, and work hard towards my goal- which has always been in education. While pursuing my B.S. degree, I chose to take photography 101 as an elective, never thinking it would change the way I viewed life.

Through a great instructor, and hours of trial and error, I was able to gain experience in the darkroom. With this strong foundation, the way I viewed the world was forever changed.

I really enjoy seeing and experiencing live gallery expositions and in doing so, it keeps me both grounded and current. The belief that my art should be fun, fresh and inspiring, shows in how I make my way through this ever changing world."

NOTE: Regarding the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in photography.  The Planning Committee has decided that the components of your final image should be produced by your camera. We are interested in your work as a photographer. If you decide to modify any part of an image in your photo, such as replacing the sky, it MUST come from your camera only. Basic tools like the healing brush for dust spot removal are allowed. GENERATIVE AI IS NOT ALLOWED for contests unless the rules specifically permit it.

UPLOADING TO OUR WEBSITE:

UPLOAD DEADLINE: Upload before 5:00 PM Saturday, April 5th.  If you are late in uploading and miss the deadline, you can still try uploading, but your images may OR may not show up for the contest.

UPLOAD: Click on Member Log In (not the drop down).  Then enter your User Name (UN) and Password (PW). If you don't remember your UN, contact Dianne Rose. She can give this information to you. If you don't remember your PW, you can enter your UN and use the provided link to change your PW (make note of it somewhere). Be creative with your PW; we have had our problems in the past with 'simple' passwords.

If you have difficulty with your upload or have made a mistake and wish to replace an image, please contact Janet Hickey or Dianne Rose.  We reserve the right to remove image(s) if they are not properly added.

IMAGES: Members may submit up to four (4) images) in this contest. Choose two (2) max in any one category. (Example - Max two (2) in the THEME category and two (2) in OPEN. ( Of course, you can decide to do less.)

READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS below BEFORE saving your image and uploading.

NAMING: Type in "THEME" first. Continue by using first name then your last name initial, then show the number of the image (01, 02) and briefly describe what we are seeing.
Example: THEME DianneR01 (description). Then save your format as a .jpg image. Example: "THEME DianneR01 ice cream sundae.jpg".  The second image would be "02".
If you are entering 1 or 2 additional images in the OPEN category - The example would be the same but using the category OPEN rather than THEME.

SIZE: Horizontal/wide 1600 px OR for a vertical/tall or your 'square-ish' image use 1200 px.
IMPORTANT TIP: Make sure that the total image size is not over 2MP. The uploader may have difficulty with larger images and will probably fail to upload. If this occurs, resize your image by adjusting the jpg "QUALITY" slider.  Watch that the total MP of the image does NOT exceed 2MP. Save your image and try UPLOAD again.
