I'm thrilled to introduce a SPOTLIGHT article from one of our new members, Bruce Gaydos!
I really appreciate it when a new member steps up to the invitation for a SPOTLIGHT article and/or the MEMBERS GALLERY. He's ready to participate and learn more about that camera in his hand and how to create the vision.
Introducing Bruce's story into his vision of the world through his lens....
"Greetings everyone, my name is Bruce Gaydos. I’m 71 years old, retired, and living with my wife in Limerick. My knowledge of photography began when I retired.
In the 1970s I worked for a studio for a couple of years as an apprentice but very little of what I learned is relevant today. Photography is a hobby and I love driving to different local locations to find things of interest, and if the place is historical all the better. I live near Valley Forge where there is no shortage of things for me to explore.
I have two Canon full-frame cameras with an assortment of lenses. I use Photoshop, Lightroom, and Luminar for post-processing.
My goal in joining this club is to learn. I have tried YouTube videos and other internet sources but this usually ends in frustration. The videos go too fast and the speaker may have an accent and inevitably something goes wrong in the process. Curiosity guided me to the Churchville website and I immediately liked what I saw, especially Articles and Tutorials. I clicked on “The Dreamscape” the Orton Effect and followed the steps and it worked!
Thank you for accepting me into your group."
