We're pleased to have acquired Huigo for one of our presentations.  Visit her website to see her work and read about her journey.

She states: "The power of black and white images is often rooted in their simplicity. Huibo's favorite type of black and white landscape images are the clean, simple ones with just a few essential elements in each frame, leaving space for viewers to imagine and contemplate. In this presentation, she will delve deep into a few ideas and techniques in seeking such simplicity, both in the field and during the post-processing.

Topics include:  seeing and composing with essential elements; using long exposure to aid simplicity and create mood; managing tones and textures in post-processing. Whether you are an exploring beginner or an experienced photographer, this presentation can inspire you towards creating impactful black and white landscape images."

Black and white photography has a timeless appeal, and in many cases, it can touch viewers in a more profound way. Some landscape photographers may find it difficult to work without color. In the first half of this program, Huibo will discuss developing and finding one’s own vision by sharing her own evolution towards personal, expressive black and white landscape photography; then in the second half of the program she will discuss several compositional and tonal control techniques (including her post-processing flow) to improve our vision of seeing and editing in black and white.
