Christianne Ebel is a visual artist & storyteller whose lens-based practice uses photography, storytelling & documentary methods to explore lived experience beyond what is outwardly visible. Through portraiture & participatory projects, they collaborate with individuals & communities to consider how identity, relationships, & perception shape the stories we tell about ourselves & one another. Rooted in documentary while extending beyond its traditional boundaries, their work makes space for personal realities that challenge prescribed narratives. They hold a BA from SCAD & an MFA from SVA. They are the founder of the Glimmer Portrait Project & are currently developing “Queering the Queer,” a photographic project about trans identity, kinship, & existing beyond prescribed narratives of gender.
