September 16th 2024 7PM at the Nature Center.  Meet us for the fall social to share desserts and finger food.

Coordinator/Contact: We won't need to coordinate any food this year.  Due to lingering pandemic concerns about sharing food we are asking for only desserts and snacks for this social. The club will  provide some canned soda and bottled water for the evening.  You can bring your own food or beverage, and if anyone feels like it, you can bring a dessert or snack to share.

Then by 8PM we will start to show the uploaded images of member's work from the summer. Please upload up to FIVE images by 5PM on Sat Sept 14th. Naming convention is first name Last initial then number IE DianneR01, DianneR02 etc
A ZOOM link will be distributed a few days before for those who can not make it to the Center.

Note that on the next day Tues Sept 17th our first meetup is scheduled in Yardley. We will be shooting specific houses to help the Yardley Historical Association for a program scheduled for Oct 8th titled "$$$ and Sense of Yardley's Historic District" at the Old Library on Afton Lake. Lists of the needed photos will be distributed but of course there is a plethora of other shots in the town, along the canal, and on the river. More information to follow!

UPLOAD YOUR IMAGES!

DEADLINE for uploading images:  Saturday 5:00 pm before the Monday meeting.
Your images should be resized to our standard sizing (1600px width, OR 1200px height).  Resizing is easy to do with any number of programs.  Here are how-to-resize links to several commonly-used photo editors.

    • Updated 7/17/2016 - I you do not have a purchased app, you can resize for free by using this online image resizer.  It seems simple to use: http://www.bulkresizephotos.com/.  Try selecting a jpeg, and then resize to longest edge per our specific dimensions (above).

Name your images first using the JPG/JPEG format to save.  Do not allow your images to exceed 2MB; it is possible that the upload will fail.  When sizing, use the quality slider to reduce the size of your JPG/JPEG image.  Then upload your images as follows:

    • Click Add My files... and select your .jpg files to upload (named appropriately)
    • FOR THE SOCIAL, use your Last Name and First Initial and number 01, through 05. We will allow up to 5 images for the Social. (example: RoseD01, RoseD02 etc.)
    • Click Start to upload your image file(s)
    • When you are done, LOG OUT of the site.

NOTE: The Uploader allows a maximum number of images.  You can upload up to 21 images, which allows for additional SPOTLIGHT images when needed.  HOWEVER, follow the instructions regarding specific meetings (ie, critiques, contests or images for socials), and do NOT exceed the maximum entry limit.

To start, clear your catalog of previously entered images.  The site is NOT a storage area where unlimited thumbnails can be kept to give you reference on what you entered in the past.  You want to see your most current images on the web uploader.  (Get rid of the old info to avoid problems.)

Once you upload the new images, you will see thumbnails - they are square; your image will be uploaded to a remote FTP site and we will see the full size image.

After uploading, should you decide to change your image (naming or replacing) you must follow the following instructions:

    • If you are trying to REPLACE an image in the same category, you can upload a replacement image with the exact same name.  This will overwrite the original image on our remote FTP site.
    • If you uploaded and tried to delete, realizing that the naming was incorrect, then added the image correctly named, we will need you to call or email to tell us which one to delete.  Deleting your thumbnail image will NOT delete it from the remote FTP siteContact Janet or Dianne by phone or email and let us know which image to delete, or at our discretion, we will have to delete image(s) to comply with the number allowed.
    • If you added a new image, trying to replace it with another image in a different category, you will be adding the image to the remote FTP site and will exceed the allowable number.  You will have to email or call Janet or Dianne and let us know which image to delete.   IF you do not report the change, we will remove one of your images at our discretion from the contest.
