Welcome Geoff Lawson, one of our newer members who would like to share his story and his images with us.  Take a moment to read his journey into photography.

"It started quite a few years back as a kid with a Kodak disc camera. The fun of taking the shots and having them developed at the local pharmacy...capturing people in different emotions and things in various environments.  I’d always loved taking pictures but never really considered it an artistic expression.

But soon enough, life took over. Work, family and everything else stole my attention. And the fact that my wife was obsessed with taking the pictures of the kids, I resigned myself to enjoying the moments instead of capturing them.

It wasn't until years later after my wife had passed and the kids were grown and out on their own, that I forced myself to get out into the world again. So I decided to brush the dust off of my wife’s DSLR and I rediscovered the joy of photography.

Over the last several years, I've visited numerous places (mostly in and around my home in Bucks County). From abandoned places, natural scenes, cityscapes and museums to things in my own backyard. I've taken a few classes and watched more YouTube videos than I care to mention to teach myself the basics of photography. But I am happy to learn something new most times I pick up the camera.

I shoot in RAW and love to edit each one of my images. It's this artistic endeavor that I enjoy as much as getting out and taking the shots.

And while I don't get out as much as I'd like, it's a hobby that I thoroughly enjoy."
