The featured image above is an excellent example. It portrays the use of three elements in a triangular composition which adds balance and movement, and lends a sense of visual unity to an image. The composition of the three elements allows our eye stays within the frame, helping to focus interest and provoke thoughts on the relationship of the "threesome" that forms the image.

Threesomes do not have to be three of the same object/subject, as long as the theme of the threesome is evident to everyone and the judge. Example - I recently rec'd a beautiful image of one of our members lounging, curled up with her cat who was looking at her with such affection and her dog who was curled up in her lap sharing a wonderful moment, Obviously she is the object of their affection, and they are her loved ones. This image had a theme running through it...love.

PHOTOGRAPHERS NOTE: We are not looking for a montage or collection of images pieced together to present a threesome.

This evening's program will be a content and image critique, judged by a former club member and esteemed photographer, Barbara Warren.  Visit her website: http://www.barbarawarren.com/

Upload two (2) images total for the categories "Threesomes" or "Open". (i.e., submit 2 images in "Threesomes", OR choose 2 in "Open", OR 1 in each category)

 NAMING YOUR UPLOADED FILES:

  • Prefix images with either THREE then a description, then your initials and image number, or OPEN then provide a description, then your initials and image number.
  • Because we are keeping track of winners and honorable mention images, we have to have a description included.  We can't just have "THREE" or "OPEN".
  • IE if I were putting one image in each category they would be named THREE running dogs-DER01 and OPEN red umbrella-DER01.  If I were entering two images in one category, the second image would be labeled 02
